Barcelona

We arrived in Barcelona last night, and finally to our apartment around 7:30. Barcelona is huge compared to Aix, but also has small, packed roads which seem to change names the farther down you go. Finding our apartment was not easy. Fortunately Jess was standing out on a street corner to greet us!

The kids meshed together quickly, and we were off to dinner by about 8:15 (we're not in Cali any more!). We decided on a traditional Catalan restaurant, which we didn't know the name of as we set off, but did know the generally location and that there would be roasting chickens out front -- shouldn't be too hard to find. And after a few mis-directions, we did find it. Wow -- this is Barcelona! Los Caracoles ("the snails") -- busy, hot, yummy... and we got our own private room (did I mention there are 11 of us -- 7 kids!). Paella, roasted chicken, beans, and potatoes -- not quite what the vegi was looking for, but still lots of goodness.

Got home by 10:45 and to bed by 11:30 -- yikes. Should be an interesting next day!
