On Saturday we set out on our first big drive into the heart of Provence. Driving in France has been a little tricky at times -- the city roads are incredibly narrow; direction signs seems to have no consistent logic, or are often just not there when you are supposed to turn; town names are posted as you leave the town more often then when you are entering; most gas and toll stations don't take credit cards from the US unless you go to the secret pump or are ask for special assistance... We are learning and it's getting easier.
Back to Saturday -- we first went to a small town, Bedoin, at the base of the famous tour de France stage Mont ventoux to pick up a couple bikes. Very sweet, quiet town we will be returning to. We then drove over a pass and into vaison la romaine, a smallish town with roman ruins and a wonderful hilltop medieval village.
